
Sean McDowell is a gifted communicator, author, and teacher with a passion for reaching people with the gospel message. Sean serves as head of the Bible department at Capistrano Valley (California) Christian Schools, where he teaches philosophy, theology, and apologetics. In 2008, he received the Educator of the Year award for San Juan Capistrano.
Having graduated summa cum laude from Talbot Theological Seminary with a double master’s degree in theology and philosophy, Sean is now pursuing a PhD in apologetics and worldview studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sean travels throughout the United States and abroad, speaking at camps, churches, schools, universities, and conferences. He has appeared as a guest on numerous radio shows and has spoken for such organizations as Focus on the Family, Campus Crusade for Christ, Youth Specialties, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Sean is also an accomplished author. In addition to the books in the GodQuest series, he has co-authored several others, including Understand Intelligent Design with William A. Dembski, Is God Just a Human Invention? with Jonathan Morrow, and More Than a Carpenter with his father, Josh McDowell. In addition, Sean is the general editor for Apologetics for a New Generation and The Apologetics Study Bible for Students. He has also written Ethix: Being Bold in a Whatever World.
In April 2000, Sean married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie. They have two children and live in San Juan Capistrano, California.
