Founded in 1996, Outreach, Inc. is the largest provider of church outreach products and services in the world. With a mission to share God's love and empower the Church to share the message of Jesus Christ, Outreach provides cost-effective, proven methods and resources in a variety of forms, including books, media and film, invitations, banners, bulletins, branding, curriculum, church campaign materials, invitable outreach events, resource-providing websites and more. Currently located in North San Diego County and employing over 120 people, the company has established seven divisions under the umbrella of Outreach, Inc. — including Marketing Products, Films, Speakers/Events, Publishing, Web Properties, Magazine and Media Group. (See 'About Outreach')

In the early summer of 2012, Outreach, Inc will be re-locating the headquarters to Colorado Springs, CO. Account Executive — Outreach Media Group

Job description:

Reporting to the General Manager, Media Group, this position has unlimited potential for an experienced, motivated, and goal-driven individual with strong sales and communication skills. Outreach Media Group is an internal advertising sales agency, which represents the various media owned and/or operated by Outreach, Inc. These cannels include print advertising through Outreach magazine, on online channels like ChurchLeaders.com, SermonCentral.com, PastorFinder.com, and StudyLight.org. Account Executives are responsible for qualifying prospects, selling ad space, exceeding goals, and performing administrative tasks. They utilize marketing and sales tools to aid in connecting a network of ministries and organizations to the church leadership market. Develop value propositions and generate quotes and follow-up communications. Maintain/ develop relationships with key contacts within advertiser organizations to aid in delivering a high level of service. This position operates on both a salary base and a commission performance incentive. Serve the changing needs of key print advertisers. Identify and engage with key prospects for print advertising, primarily in the award-winning Outreach magazine.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales and marketing, communications, or related fields is preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in sales/marketing/direct marketing arenas, with a clearly demonstrated track record of success.
  • A strong sense of professionalism and customer orientation.
  • A track record of administrative abilities and attention to detail.
  • General knowledge of advertising and the implementation of media plans.
  • Excellent written and oral verbal skills a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with advertising, various media, church operations and pastoral leadership a plus.

Art Director

Job description:

Reporting to the Creative Director, the Art Director designer has proven experience in direct marketing and print product design. You'll be an integral part of our in-house creative and marketing teams. You will be responsible for designing printed invitation cards (see outreach.com for examples), product advertising, and direct mail campaigns. Your design will make a difference in churches, communities and lives. The willingness to take responsibility and ownership while part of a large team, as well as clear verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent technical skills using Adobe design suite (InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • 5-10 years experience and education in direct marketing design — with specific focus on direct mail and campaign design.
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop marketing strategy through effective display copy and stellar design.
  • Book design a plus.
  • Agency experience an advantage.

Business Development Manager (Sales)

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Business Development Manager has proven experience in working with churches or has been on church staff, either in marketing or communications. You'll be an integral part of our team in supporting the overall process of management and decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes it's short, medium, and long-term profitability. You will have the freedom to do what's necessary to increase brand awareness, bring in new customers, and assist in managing the day to day growth of our sales team. Your efforts will result in more churches doing more outreach and reaching more people for Christ.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in church communications arena.

General Manager, Web Properties

Job description:

The General manager of Web Properties oversees an expanding web team, expanding websites that already represent over three million annual visitors and 100 million page views per year. This position will oversee the business development and creation of numerous major websites serving church leaders including ChurchLeaders.com, PastorFinder.com, SermonCentral.com, largest community of pastors on the internet. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, the General Manager of Web Properties is a senior management position with full profit and loss responsibility. Responsibilities will include overseeing strategic direction of the division, site management, updates, and revisions, customer service, e-commerce, acquisition and/or development of new digital products, and web subscription programs. The GM of Web Properties will work with the General Manager of the Outreach Media Group toward the successful ad sales to strengthen the Web Properties Division and with the editorial leadership of the sites.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, marketing, information technology, communications, or related fields. Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years previous management experience with a track record of success in a web team environment.
  • 2-3 years managing at least one profitable, high performing website.
  • Experience with online commerce, preferably with a subscription model.
  • Grasp of the church and church leadership market space.
  • Strong written and verbal command of the English language.
  • Full command of basic business software including all elements of MS Office. Knowledge of Photoshop and at least basic HTML important.

Marketing Product Administrator

Job description:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position has unlimited potential for an experienced, detail-driven person who has marketing and product management experience.

The qualified candidate, as a member of the Marketing Team, will provide administrative and logistical support for the Product Manager and Marketing Communications team in the management of products. You will manage new and existing products in the system including making new products live and the dissolution of old products. In addition, you will assist in the management of the total life cycle of a portfolio of products including research, innovation, development, release, marketing, sales optimization and phase-outs. Also, serve as a resource for initiatives and information related to products & product lines including marketing, manufacturing, communication and financials

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Prefer Bachelors degree or higher degree in marketing, business or related field of study.
  • 2-5 Years experience in product development, product management, strategic marketing or related area.
  • Experience in project management, strategic marketing, creative marketing, market research, ROI analysis is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Christianity, the Christian church and pastoral leadership required.
  • A working knowledge of graphic design, print production and electronic marketing is desirable.

Marketing Project Coordinator — Back to Church Sunday

As a member of the Marketing Team, the Project Coordinator will serve as lead and key contact for the Back to Church Sunday Campaign. Project Coordinators are recognized as experienced, motivated, and goal-driven strategic thinkers with marketing and communication skills. Responsibilities include product development, webinar/newsletter coordination and management, P.R. and social media, website maintenance and restructuring, and creation and implementation of a marketing campaign across multiple channels in order to advance the mission of Back to Church Sunday and deliver high return on investment.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must have 2-5 years of proven success in marketing, project management or related area.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
  • Excellent copywriting/editing skills.
  • Experience in planning, trafficking, strategic marketing, creative marketing, market research and ROI analysis is required.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity of CMS systems, particularly Expression Engine, and HTML a plus.

Outreach Associate (Call Center Sales)

Job description:

Reporting to the Sales Director, this is a call center position requiring excellent phone, computer and relational skills. The willingness to take responsibility, work accurately with excellence in order processing, while supporting the team during busy seasons, is essential. The successful candidate will have proven customer service and order processing experience and be a reliable, dedicated person who enjoys interacting with people.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in a call center and/or inside sales department.
  • Good customer service and order processing skills.
  • Computer, typing and good phone skills are essential.

Outreach Specialist
