Lee Strobel, a well-known speaker and author, is described by The Washington Post as "one of the evangelical community's most popular apologists." His best-selling book, The Case For Christ, is now widely considered a standard evangelism text. Lee received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a master’s in law from Yale Law School. He worked for 14 years as an award-winning legal editor for The Chicago Tribune and taught First Amendment Law at Roosevelt University. After a nearly two-year investigation of the evidence for Jesus, Lee received Christ in 1981. He served as teaching pastor for Bill Hybels’ Willow Creek Community Church and later as teaching pastor for Rick Warren’s Saddleback Community Church. Lee co-authored the Becoming a Contagious Christian evangelism course, which has trained more than a million Christians. His articles have been published in a variety of magazines, including Discipleship Journal, Marriage Partnership, Outreach magazine, The Christian Research Journal, Guideposts and Decision. He has appeared on such national radio programs as “The Bible Answer Man” and “Focus on the Family”.

Lee shared the Christian Book of the Year award in 2005 for a curriculum he co-authored about the movie, The Passion of the Christ. He also has won Gold Medallions for his books The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, The Case for a Creator, and Inside the Mind of Unchurched Harry and Mary. For two seasons, Lee was executive producer and host of the weekly national network television program Faith Under Fire. In recognition of his extensive research for his books, Southern Evangelical Seminary honored Lee with a doctorate of Divinity in 2007.
