Da Vinci Code Outreach Resources
Da Vinci Code Event Resources
  • Preach a single sermon or a multi-week series addressing the key doctrines questioned in the book and film. See SermonCentral.com for ideas, outlines, manuscripts and PowerPoint slides.
  • Host “Unlocking The Da Vinci Code” outreach event by CCN with Erwin Lutzer, Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg on CCN May 21 (www.ccn.tv/davinci).
  • Host a speaker who can examine The Da Vinci Code’s claims. Go to OutreachSpeakers.com to view available experts.
  • Host a Q&A or panel discussion at your church or movie theatre, addressing critical questions raised by seekers and skeptics.
  • Publicize your sermon series or special event with a theater screen ad that is shown prior to the movie. Contact your local theaters for information.
  • Equip your members to invite their friends and neighbors to your sermon series or special event with Da Vinci-themed InviteCards or DoorHangers.
  • Distribute InviteCards to moviegoers as they exit the theatre, or secure the cards on driver’s door windows of cars in the parking lot.
  • Run a newspaper ad in the entertainment section of your local newspaper, publicizing your event.
  • Mail a “Da Vinci Code: Seek the Real Truth” ImpactCard postcard to the selected carrier routes in driving range of your church. For demographic information on the best areas to target, contact an Outreach Specialist at 800.991.6011.
  • Work with your newspaper ad rep to insert your church’s Da Vinci flier as a “zone buy” – sent to specific zip codes around your church. Your Outreach Specialist can help with the design.
  • Create YardSigns for your members to display on their front lawns that read: “Da Vinci Code: Seek the REAL Truth” or “Decoding Da Vinci: Seek the REAL Truth” with your church name or website, then the date & time of your series.
  • Offer discussion groups or encourage existing small groups to discuss the issues raised by the movie. Discussing The Da Vinci Code by Lee Strobel and Garry Poole is a four-week, seeker-friendly, DVD-driven small group curriculum, featuring interviews with scholars and investigation of the movie’s plot sites.
  • Give visitors gifts for further exploration: The Da Vinci Code: A Quest for Answers by Josh McDowell is a 128-page novel that answers key doctrinal questions in a light, easy-to-understand manner. Exploring the Da Vinci Code by Lee Strobel and Garry Poole weaves interviews with experts through visits to movie plot sites. Both books are available at DaVinciCode.Outreach.com.
  • Distribute evangelistic booklets to moviegoers at theatres or at nearby coffee houses (places where moviegoers would go after the movie). Give plenty to your members to hand out to friends at work, and distribute them to visitors in your services. The Da Vinci Code: A Companion Guide to the Movie is a 20-page evangelistic mini-magazine produced by Campus Crusade, available at DaVinciCode.Outreach.com.
