This seems like a small size for a poster - how is it designed to be used?

The As Seen posters have a blank section on the bottom, do I need to include that on my custom design?
No, stock As Seen posters have a blank section so churches can write in their event and contact information. But when you design your own poster, you can include the important information as part of your design anywhere, just dont' forget it! Make sure readers will know your church's name, location, and date and time for your event!
